Hey, gang- adding a quick post to give you a heads up on some more of my art spotted out in the wild…Area 51 to be exact.
These are some of my original designs (done in Corel Draw X4).
I wanted to incorporate the water tower and their tasting spoons in the designs.
Originally I designed them as a 1 color left chest and a full back tee, but now they are two 1 color full front prints.
Thanks to A51 owners Steve and Karin Cubbage (head chef and ice cream magician) for the couple tees for me and Nicki.
We’ve been fans and friends with them for a while now (even an employee for a few months), and their alien mascot is named “Lin”. You can see what flavors of their in-house artisan ice cream and baked goods are available each day by following them on Instagram and/or Facebook.
Recently after dropping Nicki off at the airport for a work trip, I stopped by Area 51 on my way home to take some pics of the Red Spider Lilies growing wild in the lot next to the shop. I used to see them there when I worked behind the ice cream counter and noticed them while driving down Commerce Street a day or so earlier. They’re poisonous but are some of my favorite flowers, or weeds, or herbs, or whatever they are.
Oh, and when Nicki got back in town from her trip we stopped by another locally owned shop- the new Boba Cream.
Boba Cream is also located on Commerce Street in the strip center where A51 used to be- just a couple doors down (the iconic old Hernando water tower is in the background). They serve delicious bubble tea in lots of different flavors and flavor combinations, as well as some baked goods and more. You can see their menu here.
If you haven’t been to either local location I highly recommend each.
