Hey, gang- welcome to another Muppet Monday!
First up is my sketchcard of Grover as Spider-Monster from Sesame Street.
I started off with a click HB pencil on an MSCA sketchcard blank.
Up next was coloring with Copic markers.
I then did some line work with a black Pigma Micron pen. I usually us an 03 pen.
For the highlights I used a white Gelly Roll pen…
…and a white Prismacolor pencil.
And, viola- the finished sketchcard! I sprayed a light coat of Krylon workable fixative over it. I recommend doing that outdoors or with good ventilation.
I did the same steps for Super-Grover sketchcard, but added a bit of a metalic effect with a silver gel pen.
All of my Muppet sketchards were done on Mid-South Cartoonists Association blanks. If you’re interested in trying out one hit up an MSCA event.
You can also find blanks at most art stores (like The Art Center on Union Ave. in Memphis), online, or make your own.
