Hey, gang- I’ve got another Monster Monday post for you while the Halloween season is in full effect. The Memphis Monster Market has now closed for this year, but fear not- there’s still a chance for you to pick up some of my Monsterpieces and other spectacular spooky art around town…specifically the “G’town“.

I’ve got several pieces as part of the Mid-South Cartoonists Association‘s “Drawn Of The Dead” art show out at the Germantown Community Theatre. They’re located at 3037 Forest Hill Irene, Germantown, TN 38138 and are just off Poplar Avenue and around the corner from Casey’s Art Box.
My recent Frank airbrushed portrait (18″x24″) is still hanging and is going for $200.
And I have 4 new mini-canvas paintings for sale at the Halloween themed art show, too. These were a lot of fun to do using my new acrylic paint markers.

“Trick ‘r Treat”
10″x10″
$100

“SIVAD”
12″x9″
$100

“Pumpkin”
10″x10″
$75

“By Any Other Name…”
Canvas Print
8″x8″
$30

“Playing With Your Head”
Canvas Print
8″x8″
$30
We had our opening reception in the lobby of the Germantown Community Theatre back on October 10th, and the art show runs until November 10th. You can see the art show during CGT‘s normal box office hours and performances of their play “Mary Shelley’s: Frankenstein”.
My airbrushed “Dracula” portrait (24″x36″) didn’t sell at the Monster Market, so it’s still available to go to a good home for the right price ($300)- hopefully it’s a haunted house..!
My “London After Midnight” framed marker illustration is also still available for $125, as are my “Beetlejuice” (tombstone) and “Count Von Count” (coffin) wooden panel paintings for $100ea.
My “Nosferatu” panel sold at Monster Market, as did my “Sandworm” one!
None of my sketchcovers sold last week at Monster Market, so they’re available for purchase at $100ea, too.
As are many of my MSCA zine sketchcovers done on “The Good, The Bad, and the Sketchy” blanks for $35ea.
I’ll have all my remaining art available at the upcoming 10th annual Memphis Zine Fest on Sunday, November 16th from 12-4 p.m. at Havenhaus in downtown Memphis (84 E GE Patterson Avenue).
I’ll also have plenty of copies of my “Scared Silly” zine ($3ea or 2/$5), “BATS” trading card sets ($10ea), art prints ($10ea or 3/$25), stickers ($2ea or 3/$5), hand-drawn sketchcards & sketchcovers ($35-100ea), and more.
It’s a free event and will be the last event I’ll be setting up for in 2025.
Oh, and MSCA prez Kevin L. Williams and I will be set up on Saturday, November 1st at the 15th annual Memphis Comic and Fantasy Con at the Hilton Memphis off I-240 near Poplar.

We’ll be there to promote the Mid-South Cartoonists Association.
If you make it out to the con on “Day of the Dead/All Saints Day” be sure to slide by our MSCA table to check out our group anthology zines and pick up some free swag and candy. We may be doing free quick sketches for any kids with sketchbooks…just sayin’. 😉
Thanks again to Lauren/Holtermonster and the Monster Market crew and The Beale Street Monster Club. I had a great time the nights I got to head down to the Medicine Factory, especially for the in-store showing of the original “Dracula“ movie.
Michael Cox, co-founder of the monster club hosted the Dracula showing and bought my “SIVAD” sketchcard- thanks, Michael!
If you’re interested in purchasing any of my art, please feel free to hit me up on Facebook or Instagram, or email me at lin(at)linworkman(dot)com or podcast(at)drawingfunny(dot)com. Serious enquiries only, what you see is what you get. If you pre-pay (PayPal or Venmo) I can reserve/bring them with me for you to pick up at the MSCA monthly dinner gatherings at Garibaldi’s, Zine Fest or MCFC, if you see me at Zine Fest I’ll have most of my monsterpieces there, I’m also happy to deliver them in/around the Memphis area.
Right now I’m not doing any shipping or selling in stores, but will have limited sketchcovers and sketchcards available at The Cellar in Bartlett again after Zine Fest and will be offering domestic shipping on other items after the holidays.
I’m afraid I will not be at the Memphis Monster Con next month.
Oh, I’ve had several people ask about me doing commissioned work, and I’m afraid I’ve retired from doing any of that. I appreciate the interest in my work, but I do not do any commissioned pieces or “freelance” work. I occasionally will take on a side sketchcard gig for upcoming sets, but for the most part I draw/paint what I want when I want, sell it when/where I can, and try to keep my prices low and the quality high. It doesn’t always pay the bills like I would like it to, but it does help keep me sane these days. Plus I need to get to work on a couple Christmas presents for my wife..!
Thanks to everyone who have attended the events I’ve set up at this year. It’s been great to talk toons and monsters with folks. I’ll be out at the Pink Palace Museum with the Memphis Ghostbusters on Thursday night, October 30th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and I’ll be part of another MSCA group game themed art show in December/January at the Jewish Community Center, and will be doing a “Family Portraits” monsterpiece solo art show in June at Playhouse on the Square during their run of “Sweeny Todd“. I’ll have more info on both of those shows soon.

Hope you’re having a happy Halloween season- cheers!
