Art Hang Ups At The Germantown Community Theatre

Hey gang,

The Mid-South Cartoonists Association (MSCA) art show “‘Murica: A ‘Toonist’s Take on American History” is on display and presented alongside the comedy play, “The Complete History of America (Abridged)”.

Both run February 17 – 27, 2022, at Germantown Community Theater in Germantown, TN.

The art show features pieces by members Terence Washington, DaMarco Randle, Jim Palmer, Dale Martin, Greg Cravens, MSCA Prez Kevin L. Williams and me.

The ‘Murica art show is hanging in the lobby and available for viewing Tuesday – Thursday 10am – 4pm, and between door opening and showtime of “The Complete History of America (Abridged).”

It was great to finally get back together in person for an MSCA event again- and the play was a lot of fun to watch.

Nicki and I were happy to get out for a date night and catch an early viewing of the play and art show this past Wednesday night with a few MSCA members.

I’ve got a Lone Ranger/COVID piece hanging in the show (left).

Dale Martin with his Lone Ranger/Hitler toon.

“Picture it…” DaMarco Randle with his “Mount Rosemont”painting.

MSCA Prez Kevin Williams with his Declaration Of Independence comic strip and some of the MSCA postcards. We each did a doodle on some and left them on the tables.

Speaking of the postcards, there is some free swag to pick up if you stop by the theater.

The play was a lot of fun. Germantown Community Theater is doing an industry rush ticket price for the final performance Sunday the 27th at 6:30 of just $10! Anyone can just use the code USA when purchasing online or call Annie at 453-7447. Also, military, student, AND teachers get $15 anytime.

Kevin and I had a great time hanging the show last week and getting to take a tour of the theater, including the dressing rooms, workshop, and prop storage.

Their “backstage” area had several posters from previous plays, and there was a tiny puppy who was hanging out in the office who was just too dang cute.
