Hey, gang- I’ll be set up this weekend at the Memphis Sports & Event Center in midtown for this year’s Memphis Comic Expo!
MCX (AKA “DonnieCon”) will be at the fairgrounds this year. Last year it had been downtown at the convention center, and for several years it was out east at the Agricenter International.
The new sports complex is HUGE, and the con should do great in this location.
I went to the MidSouth Mega Con there this past May and really enjoyed the space. Very open and bright, and easy to get to just off of Airways/East Parkway near Young.
Kevin L. Williams and I were set up there to promote the Mid-South Cartoonists Association and had a great time.
And it looks like the weather this weekend will be much better than when we were there in May..!
This time I’ll have my wife/official booth babe Nicki set up with me. I’ll have a lot of my “Scared Silly” and Monsterpiece merch available for sale at our artists alley table.
I’ll also have several hand-drawn sketchcovers and sketchcards.
Just keep an eye out for my black and white striped circus sideshow table set up. It’s gotten kind of hard to miss..!

I’ll be taking a few minutes here and there to step out from behind my table to go walk around the con and talk toons with some of the guests and attendees there for my “Drawing Funny” podcast. In the latest “Drawing Funny” podcast episode I share local art news, art techniques, and my opinion on teaching an old dog new and old tricks.
